Award from the Ministry of Education of the Czech Republic for being one of the top 50 graduates in the Czech Republic in 1986.
One of the six priced poster contributions at the NATO ASI School Confined Electrons and Photons, Erice, July 1993, by a selection committee of the school.
Invited guest of the Erwin Schrodinger International Institute for Mathematical Physics, semester on Condensed Matter Physics - Dynamics, Geometry and Spectral Theory, August-September 1995.
Listed in ``Who's Who in Science and Engineering".
Invited to international advisory committee of the Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics (CLEO/Europe- IQEC 2000).

Around 30 invited seminars and contributed talks presented in a number of research institutes and on different conferences around the globe.

Without having any own group and working on my own (since 2003 in my free time only) I have reached a h-index of 14.
In other words, among the articles that I have published there are 14 which received at least 14 citations each. (See also a recent quote: ``A researcher should be promoted to associate professor when they achieve a h-index of around 12, and to full professor when they reach a h-index about of 18.")
